The results of the KVPY (Kishore VaigyanikProtsahanYojana) Fellowship 2017 were declared on Monday, April 9th. Students from Deeksha have achieved stunning success. 23 students have been awarded the prestigious KVPY Fellowship – 2017 with four of them getting ranks within the top 100.

The “Kishore VaigyanikProtsahanYojana” (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students who are studying Basic Sciences to take up a research career in Science. The program is run by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and overseen by a National Advisory Committee (NAC). The aim of the program is to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue a career in research. Generous fellowship and contingency grants are provided to the selected KVPY Fellows up to the pre-Ph.D. level or 5 years whichever is earlier. In addition, summer camps for the KVPY Fellows are organized in prestigious research and educational institutions in the country.

The first level, the aptitude test was conducted on the 5th and 9th of November. The interview for shortlisted candidates, which was the final stage of the selection procedure was held in the month of February.
