The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level examination conducted by The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for presenting scholarships. In 2017, the NCERT is conducting the exam in two stages.

The stage I (State Level) examination will be held on November 5, 6, and 13, 2016, and the stage II (National Level) exam will be held on May 14, 2017.

About one thousand scholarships are presented in a different stage of education as follows:

  1. Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- every month for Class XI to XII
  2. Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for graduates and undergraduates
  3. The scholarship amount for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms

Selection for Stage I will be done by States/UTs and students who qualify Stage I will be eligible for the Stage II exam, conducted by NCERT.

Application Form

Class X students studying abroad can directly appear for Stage-II NTSE under conditions prescribed in the NTSE brochure available on the NCERT website. Candidates need to fill up the Application form, available on the NCERT website, and send the undersigned form with a photocopy of the mark sheet of the previous examination, latest by 31st December 2016.
