When we are in a rush to do our best while preparing for exams, stress might be one thing that we would have to combat with.  There are several simple and quick techniques that help reduce stress while preparing for exams. Here are seven of them:

1. TAKE A QUICK WALK

Physical activities such as walking release endorphins, a potent brain chemical that relieves pain and stimulates relaxation. Opting for short breaks between study schedules and utilising this time to take a brisk walk or a casual stroll, helps reduce stress.

2. SPEAK TO A LOVED ONE

Exam schedules keep students so busy that they interact for a very short span with family members. However, the presence of a loved one or a conversation with a close family member like a grandparent serves as an instantaneous stress buster.

3. LISTEN TO MUSIC

Music soothes a worked up body and mind. Today, it is used widely in therapies that treat anxiety and stress-related disorders. Listening to a melody or a soothing classical number is a proven way to take the mind off exam-related stress. It helps students relax and focus on their subjects.

4. INDULGE IN A HOBBY

Doodling, sketching, and painting are perfect stress-busters for lovers of art. The satisfaction gained from indulging in a hobby for a short while, or creating small and quick pieces of craft, boosts confidence. This, in turn, proves helpful when resuming with studies.

5. PLAY WITH A PET

Furry members of the family are the greatest boon to animal lovers looking for stress busters. Spending a little while outdoors with pets helps calm down the body and mind on a busy day spent preparing for examinations.

6. MEDITATE

Meditation is one of the most common techniques used to calm down a tense mind. Freeing up some time every day to practice breathing techniques that relax the body and mind is a simple and effective step to combat stress.

7. DARK CHOCOLATE HELPS

This activity can be the best buddy for all students who rely on edibles to cut down on anxiety and stress. Dark chocolate, which is composed of more than 70 per cent cocoa, fights stress hormones and produces a relaxing effect on the body. Additionally, this variety of chocolate, like physical activity, releases endorphins that help fight stress.
