‘Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful and magical humans on earth, for what they believe is what they become.’ – Brooke Hampton

In this crucial phase, along with following up with our children about timetable and revision, we also have an important role of instilling the attitude of positive thinking in them. This creates an atmosphere that is conducive to growth.   Such an atmosphere makes our children understand that everyone has challenges that can’t be avoided and these challenges actually help build our character.

Here’s an experience shared by a parent in this regard – ‘My son struggles with math, so we are learning together to stay positive about it. When we get frustrated, he senses it and gets down on himself. When we tell him that we believe in him and share our own examples of times that we have struggled in school and have managed to deal with that phase, he feels more hopeful and determined.’

This simple act of affection will go a long way in building hope and resilience in them!

Check out this short yet profound video, which talks about how our children look up to us for strength and knowing what their true potential is and it’s not a report card that defines them!
