Putting smiles on the faces of lakhs of anxious students, the Karnataka PU Department had announced the II PU 2017 results on May 11. The news has come as a great relief for the worried students who have been waiting for the results with bated breath since the completion of board exams.

This year a total of 6,84,490 students appeared for the exam out of which 3,35,909 were girls and 3,48,563 were boys. The overall pass percentage in the second year PU examinations 2017 was 52.38%. Girls scored better than boys this year too. The pass percentage among the girls was 60.28% while the boys scored 44.74%.

The II PU exams were conducted from March 9 to March 27, 2017. The PUE Department offers 23 subjects, 11 languages, and 50 combinations for the pre-university curriculum for Class 11 and 12 students.

The II PUC results are very crucial as they pave the way ahead for the aspirants to seek admissions to undergraduate academic programs at higher education institutions. In certain cases, PUC results are also considered as the minimum eligibility criteria for many entry-level employment opportunities in both government and private companies.

Students of Deeksha made it to the list of top scorers. This year 1,222 Deekshaites secured distinction and 463 students achieved centums. The overall pass percentage we achieved this year is 88.4%.

3,250 students from the Science stream cleared the II PUC with a total pass percentage of 89.0%. A total of 1,092 students got distinctions, 376 scored centums and 1,856 achieved first class in II PUC Science.

Sahana N from the Science stream secured 3rd Rank in the state with 594 marks. The achiever said, “I am very happy with my scores and would thank my teachers who were always there by my side to clear the doubts. She added, studying at Deeksha was fun.”

Vishwajit B Hegde who scored 590 out of 600 in Science said, “I am very happy for achieving this score.  I would like to thank my parents and teachers of Deeksha who supported me and helped me get this result. Moreover, the environment at Deeksha is wonderful.

When it comes to Commerce, Deekshaites performed really well with 87 centums. 475 Deekshaites cleared the exam with a pass percentage of 84.7%. 130 students got distinctions and 261 achieved first class in Class 12 Commerce Board Exams.

Pooja Murali who secured 3rd Rank in the State with 593 marks in II PU Commerce said, “I am grateful to Deeksha for all the support they gave us.” Adding to the conversation, she said, “I found Deeksha to be different from other colleges as we were taught everything practically which helped us to memorize the concepts easily.

Adding to the list of Commerce toppers, Varshini N Anur secured the second-highest score of 592 and Samskriti M N achieved the third-highest score of 589 respectively.
